The Hoffman House – SOLD

01/17/2012

Nestled on the private interior of the neighborhood, the Hoffman House was built in 1953 and expanded in 1960 by Hawkins and Mannon the only home to have been added to by the original architect and builder of Arapahoe Acres.

Presenting a low, private profile with large overhangs in the front, the Hoffman House reveals mahogany, concrete block and walls of glass once you enter the front door. The home is a rarity in that the original beam ceilings were never painted or stained. A classic U- shape, allows for a private master suite and large covered patio area.

All three bedrooms are large for the neighborhood. 2 fireplaces provide focus in the living room and dining area and were swept in 2011.  A Karim Rashid light hangs over the dining area while a Phillip Stark sink is in one bathroom.  The kitchen was updated in 2011 with custom cabinetry from Seattle-based Kerf Design while the countertops are Soapstone and the appliances stainless.

There are other groups of modern homes in Denver, but there is only one true neighborhood of site-planned mid-century homes and that is Arapahoe Acres.
